  • Selected Publications

    1. 2012: authored a book “Arunachal Natodikathakal” (Mathrubhumi Books) on Arunachal Folktales in Malayalam. Mathrubhumi has released its 3rd edition in May 2022.
    2. 2020: co-author of “Monster of the Golden Valley”, the English translation of Arunachal folktales.

    1. Feb 2008: Arunachal Pradesh Governor’s Silver Medal, for meritorious services to the youth.
    2. Mar 2007: Roll of Honour 2007 by the Association of Writers & Illustrators for Children (AWIC), New Delhi, for outstanding reading promotion efforts among Himalayan tribalsocieties.
    3. Dec 2102: Featured in the programme ‘Amazing Indians’ in the Times Now TV in Dec 2012.
    4. Nov 2016: Has been inducted into the Civil Society Hall of Fame in November, 2016, as Coordinator of the Lohit Youth Library Network.
    5. Sept 2018: Lifetime Achievement Award from Sree Narayana Guru Cultural Centre, Shillong
    6. Feb 2019 & 2020: Honour by the CALSOM, the apex body of the Mishmi tribal community of Lohit district.
    7. Jan 2020: Govt of India declares conferring Padma Shri Award. Award presented on Nov 8, 2021
    8. Jul 2022: Dakshina - Ravunni Menon Award for educational activism in Arunachal - by Dakshina, Chennai

Research Interests

  • ● School education, Reading skills, Non-formal education in rural and tribal communities, and the production of reading material in marginalized North-East languages.
  • ● History of aviation in independent India with respect to North-East regions.
