Physics

The discipline of Physics at IITGN was started in 2010 with a Ph.D. program and was expanded to offer a M.Sc. program in 2014. The discipline currently hosts research activities which can be broadly classified into:

  • Gravitational wave astronomy
  • Black-hole physics
  • High energy physics
  • Physics of strong interaction: Hot QCD matter, Quark-Gluon-Plasma
  • Condensed matter physics: crystallography
  • Active matter, Colloidal dynamics, Nanotechnology
  • Experimental condensed matter physics and Nanofluidics
  • Nano-science, Physics of Surfaces and Interfaces
  • Quantum Optics, Ultracold Atomic Physics, and Quantum Thermodynamics

In order to meet current and future research and teaching requirements, the discipline of Physics at IIT Gandhinagar seeks outstanding applicants from all areas of Physics to fill multiple positions at all levels.
