Dean's List and Academic Citations
The Dean's List and Academic Citations recognize those students who achieve a certain level of academic excellence in an academic term. Such a student receives a personalized letter of appreciation from the Dean (Academic) to honor and recognize their excellent academic performance.
Dean’s List Criteria for BTech Students (including BTech-MTech, BTech-MSc, BTech Dual Major):
The top 5% of the enrolled students in each discipline based on SPI are placed on the Dean's List, and the next 10% of students are awarded the Academic Citation, subject to meeting the following eligibility criteria. Students in their 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th semesters for a batch will be considered for the Dean’s List.
- • Minimum SPI of 8.0, with at least 20 credits of courses (excluding the thesis units) cleared that semester
- • There should not be any F grade in any credit courses in the concerned semester
- • Not placed on any academic or disciplinary probation
Dean’s List Criteria for MA, MSc, and MTech Students:
The top 10% of the enrolled students or top 2 students, whichever is lower, in a given discipline per semester per programme for a batch will be placed on the Dean’s List, provided they meet all eligibility criteria as given below. Students in their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd semesters for a batch will be considered for the Dean’s List.
- • Minimum SPI should be equal to or greater than 8.5.
- • The minimum credit load (excluding Thesis/project/Aarohan credits) should be 16.
- • There should not be any F grade in any credit courses in the concerned semester.
- • Not placed on any academic or disciplinary probation.
- • No adverse written feedback from instructors or faculty supervisors or TA supervisors during the semester.
- For disciplines with less than or equal to 5 students registered in a given semester, per programme, per batch, no student shall be placed on the Dean’s list. For disciplines with 6 to 19 students registered in a given semester, per programme, per batch, the top 1 student is to be placed on the Dean’s list.
