Physics
The department of Physics at IITGN was started in 2010 with a Ph.D. program and was expanded to offer a M.Sc. program in 2014. The department currently hosts research activities which can be broadly classified into:
- Gravitational wave astronomy
- Black-hole physics
- High energy physics
- Physics of strong interaction: Hot QCD matter, Quark-Gluon-Plasma
- Condensed matter physics: crystallography
- Active matter, Colloidal dynamics, Nanotechnology
- Experimental condensed matter physics and Nanofluidics
- Nano-science, Physics of Surfaces and Interfaces
- Quantum Optics, Ultracold Atomic Physics, and Quantum Thermodynamics
