Prof. G.V. Rao Scholarship

Prof. G.V. Rao Scholarship has been instituted in the year 2023 by Prof. Amit Prashant and is open to all BTech students. The scholarship amount is Rs. 1 lakh per student per year and is awarded to one BTech student every year in order to support internships (international or domestic), special projects and opportunities, financial needs, etc. BTech students with a minimum CPI of 6.5 are eligible.

Prof. Amit Prashant, a professor in the discipline of civil engineering and Dean, Research Development at IIT Gandhinagar. His interest areas of research is Constitutive modeling for granular materials, Numerical modelling of geotechnical structures, Earthquake geotechnical engineering and Applications of geosynthetics etc. Prof. G.V. Rao scholarship is instituted by him in the honor of Prof. G. V. Rao, who is a visiting professor since Dec 2015 in the discipline of civil engineering at IIT Gandhinagar. Prof. G. V. Rao has been contributing to llT Gandhinagar by conducting numerous courses and lecture series. He has been particularly instrumental in progress and diversification of the consultancy and research projects at the Institute through active industry partnerships.
