Guidelines for Institute Ombudsman Operations
Consequent to the appointment of an Institute Ombudsman, the Student Community is expected to raise their concerns regarding complaints of academic issues (not of any academic content) to the Ombudsman.
The following guidelines are framed for the procedure to be adopted for filing complaints to the Ombudsman:
- Any aggrieved student on any issue faced by him/her related to the Institute affairs / matters may file a complaint to the Institute Ombudsman, either through an email (iitgnombudsman@iitgn.ac.in) or typed / handwritten complaint detailing the issues faced.
- The Complainant will be non-anonymous to the Ombudsman.
- On receipt of the complaint, the Ombudsman maintaining strict anonymity of the complainant, forwards the same to the concerned Department / Discipline / Office for detailed comments.
- On receipt of the Ombudsman's information, the concerned Department / Discipline provides necessary details after conducting suitable scrutiny without any impartiality.
- After consultation with the Complainant, the Ombudsman evaluates the information and presents the case before the institute's Director for a final decision.
- The decision taken by the Director of the Institute will be final and binding on all the parties.
- Complete anonymity of the Complainant will be maintained throughout.
