Shree Janardan Taldevkar, born in Mumbai, could not continue his education beyond matriculation. He started to work at the Standard Mill, Prabhadevi, to support the family. He had worked until the mill closed in the 1990s during the Great Bombay Textile Strike. Later, he worked as a security guard and retired in 2015. His unbeaten grit, hard work, progressive outlook, and commitment to values were exemplary. The donor Mr Madan Taldevkar believes that his father's interest in mathematics and Science inspired him to choose Engineering as a career. Shree Janardan Taldevkar succumbed to Covid-19-related complications on 12th Dec 2021. He is remembered fondly by his family, relatives, and numerous lives he touched throughout his life. The scholarship of Rs. 1 Lakh per year would support the undergraduate students for their financial needs, for funding internships (international or domestic), or special projects and opportunities, etc.
