Bhai Krishna Chandra Mittal Scholarship

These scholarships have been instituted by Mr. Sudhir M Mittal in the year 2018-19 and are open to all B.Tech students at IIT Gandhinagar. Two scholarships of Rs. 1 lakh each are provided every year to support internships (international or domestic), special projects and opportunities, financial needs, etc. B.Tech students with a minimum CPI of 6.5 are eligible. Preference will be given to needy students.

Mr. Sudhir M Mittal is currently the Managing Director Sukriti (P) Ltd., Ghaziabad. He did his B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from IIT Kanpur in 1970. He worked with Union Carbide for 10 years. He switched from job to his own enterprise and set up special wire manufacturing unit Sukriti Vidyut Udyog making silver and nickel plated copper wires. Presently, more than 60% of the produce is exported to Europe, USA and the Far East. He actively pursues village and primary education. He is also the President of Gram Bharati, near Pilakhua, a training school for teachers of village schools. He is actively associated with Saraswati Vidya Mandir Ghaziabad.

He is on advisory committee of SIDBI Centre for Entrepreneurship Development at IIT Kanpur, and has frequently interacted with the IIT students as a mentor who want to start their own venture. Mr. Mittal has instituted these scholarships in memory of his brothers, Mr. Suresh Mohan Mittal and Mr. Krishna Chandra Mittal.
