Prof. Nitish V Thakor

Prof. Nitish V Thakor

Prof. Thakor is a Professor of Neurology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine with appointments in the Whiting School of Engineering’s Departments of Biomedical Engineering and Electrical and Computer Engineering. Prof. Thakor directs the Neuroengineering & Biomedical Instrumentation Laboratory at JHU and the NIH Training Grant on Neuroengineering. He also served as the founding Director of SINAPSE from 2008-2022 and headed their Neuro Engineering Research Centre during this period.

Prof Sharan served at IIT Kanpur for more than 35 years in the discipline of electrical engineering and moved to IITGN in 2012 as a visiting professor and served till May 2019. Post retirement, Prof Sharan has received two awards from IIT Kanpur: Distinguished Teacher Award (2013) and Institute Fellow award (2016). His research interests include technological progress and human values, semiconductor devices, transducers and instrumentation, noise, engineering education.

Prof Sudhir K Jain

Prof Sudhir K Jain

Prof Jain is an internationally reputed scholar of earthquake engineering and recognized as one of the most dynamic educators in India. He is currently serving his third 5-year term as director of the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar, which he joined as founder director in June 2009. He was on the faculty of IIT Kanpur for 35 years from 1984-2019. He was elected Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering in 2003, and was conferred Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2020.
