Congratulations to the 2022 graduating batch. We are proud of your achievements!

This is one of the most memorable days of your life. In order to make sure everything goes smoothly, please make sure you follow these guidelines:

Before the Ceremony:

  1. Complete all formalities: Please be sure that you have satisfied all the formalities and obtained all the necessary clearances. Please also RSVP to the invitation that you will receive.
  2. Obtain the convocation attire: You will receive instructions for doing so once you confirm your participation. Please ensure that all pieces of your attire are in proper shape before the convocation day.
    • Students need to purchase the Kurta Pyjama, and Chappals for a price of Rs. 3250/- from the attire issuing desk will be set up at the shop in the Central Arcade near the post office
    • The Robe will be issued for the duration of the convocation ceremony and must be returned immediately after the ceremony.
    • The robe returning/collection counter will be set up at shop in the Central Arcade near the post office. All students must submit their robes immediately after the group photograph.
    • The Attire issuing desk will close on 29-Jul-2022 at 6 pm.
    • No attire will be issued on the day of convocation (30-Jul-2022) in any case.

    The opening hours for the desk will be as follows:
    28-Jul-2022: 2 pm - 5 pm (Shop in the Central Arcade near the post office)
    29-Jul-2022: 10 am - 1 pm & 2 pm - 6 pm (Shop in the Central Arcade near the post office)
    30-Jul-2022: Robe returning desk at shop in the Central Arcade near the post office

  3. Inform family and/or friends about the event: The convocation is a very formal and solemn affair. Kindly inform your family and/or friends visiting about the nature of the event.
  4. Accommodation arrangement: Some rooms in the Students' hostels are available for accommodation of the graduating students during July 29-31. For parents and other guests, the rooms in the nearby hotels can be booked. More detail regarding accommodations is available here.
  5. Follow the parking norms: Parking norms will be followed as per guidelines. Please make sure you abide by them.

On Convocation Day:

  1. Arrive on time: The institute values and respects punctuality as part of its core ethos. Please arrive on time for the event. You are formally expected to be seated in the convocation hall by 10:30 a.m.
  2. Continuing the tradition: Each of you is an asset to the institute. The number of graduating students may appear large and may only increase each year. The appreciation for each degree granted in procession will also keep increasing, in keeping with the tradition initiated in the first convocation. 
  3. Photographs and tours: This is your day. Once the formal ceremony ends, please feel free to make best use of your time by of taking pictures of your friends and batchmates or by giving a tour of the campus with your family and friends. Show them the institute that you have helped shape!
  4. Returning the robe: Please note that the robes are rented. If you wish you may keep them by paying the appropriate price. Kindly return them in the same condition if you are not interested in purchasing.
  5. Share your experience: Share your experience on social media using hashtag #IITGNconvocation and mention @iitgn. Send us (convocation@iitgn.ac.in) links to the pictures that you have taken so that we can showcase them.
